Design
Right out of the box, the first thing you'll notice is the convenient set-up wizard that helps you get to know the BlackBerry 8800 quickly. The time-saving tutorial helps you with the set-up process, walks you through the features and functions, and explains how to personalize settings so you can make your smartphone truly your own.

Design-wise, the BlackBerry 8800 is a nice upgrade from BlackBerry devices of the past. The side trackwheel has been replaced by an even easier to use trackball navigation system located on the top of the keypad. And yes, just like most BlackBerries of the past, you'll still find a full QWERTY keyboard, however, this handheld is thinner and lighter, and the screen is bigger and brighter than ever with its high resolution 320 x 240 LCD full color display. Intelligent light sensing technology automatically optimizes screen lighting levels for indoor and outdoor viewing. The BlackBerry 8800 also features large, dedicated send and end keys for easy call management. Dedicated volume and mute keys are found on the right side of the device so you can quickly make adjustments without having to fumble for the right button, while advanced sound technology that cancels out background noise and echo, helps ensure you can always hear and be heard, is also included. The supported USB connectivity makes file transfers to and from your PC a snap, and you can even use the USB cable and power from your PC to charge your 8800 if a standard electric outlet is not readily available. BIS provides automatic wireless synchronization of read, deleted, and sent email from the your BlackBerry phone to their desktop email account. Best on market 90% there
Well 1st I will say this is the best device ever once you load it with Yahoo Go 2.0 and integrate that with the GPS. Also, Load Blackberrys Yahoo Messenger client if you are on any carrier except ATT. Now it just needs 2 things to be perfect. 1. A high quality camera so I can send photos to Flickr. 2. Wifi. Once they add both of these and start preloading Yahoo Go on all Blackberrys they will give the iphone a run for it's money until Steve comes up with a new killer app.

Excellent Phone / PDA Combination
The integration between Cingular / RIM works very well for those of us that do not have a corporate email environment, I can easily have various personal email accounts pushed to the phone. Contrary to reviews for the earlier Blackberry devices, the phone works very well. I really like the efficiency, with 3 hours in speakerphone mode using less that half the battery capacity. I was also impressed with the speakerphone function, it worked very well in a large room with sufficient volume and it picked up all the conversation. I picked this model because I needed something without a camera, due to restrictions in various places where I consult. The attachment review feature works fairly well, but I will probably purchase one of the software packages that allow creation / modification of attachments on the Blackberry.

Loving it
This is a great phone. The full size keyboard is much better than using the pearl if you email much.

The features are great and the sound quality is good. If you are in the market for a blackberry this is the one to get.
